In a post last September I wrote about the film Shadowlands. I have recently been painting the "Golden Valley" mentioned in the film using a screengrab from the final scene. Last week I worked out where I thought this last scene might have been shot and drove out to the Wye valley this past weekend to see if I could find it. I did.

If you're interested, this view is one meander in the Wye away from the famous view from Symonds Yat Rock (also in the film). The above photo, and corresponding scene in Shadowlands, was shot from this spot. Park at Symonds Yat Rock and follow a barely-there path down the valley side till you reach the river. Follow for 1/4 of a mile or so and there you are. If you happen to use Komoot you can find the route here.
